Yarraville Special Developmental School is a Child Safe School and has zero tolerance for child abuse. We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and to implementing the Child Safe Standards.
Our school community recognises the importance of providing a safe, supportive and enriching environment. We respect and foster the dignity and self-esteem of children and young people, enabling them to thrive in their learning and development.
Every staff member, volunteer, contractor or visitor to the school is required to read and sign the Code of Conduct annually. The Code of Conduct aims to protect children, reduce opportunities for abuse or harm, and support the management of risky behaviours and situations. It complements child protection legislation, Department policy, school policies and relevant professional standards and codes of ethics.
If there is an incident, disclosure or suspicion of child abuse, the school's guidance is to follow the Four Critical Actions for Schools procedure.
For questions about the school's child safety information, please contact the school. If someone is in immediate danger, call 000.
Access the school's child safety documents below. These same documents are also listed in the central School Policies library.
Please contact Yarraville Special Developmental School if you have questions about these resources or need assistance accessing a document.
At Yarraville Special Developmental School, child safety and wellbeing are everyone's responsibility. Together with families and our school community, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful and supportive environment where every child feels valued, protected and empowered to thrive.
