Student Pick-Up and Parking - Working Together for a Safe and Smooth School Day
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES

Working Together for a Safe and Smooth School Day

At Yarraville Special Developmental School, the safety, wellbeing and learning of our students are our highest priorities. We kindly ask all families to support our student collection arrangements and parking guidelines to help maintain a safe, organised and welcoming school environment.

STUDENT COLLECTION

Student Pick-Up After 3:00 pm

To ensure students can enjoy their full day of classroom learning and to minimise interruptions to teaching time, we ask families collecting their child from the school office to wait until 3:00 pm.

EARLY DEPARTURES

Need to Collect Your Child Earlier?

We understand that appointments and other commitments may occasionally require students to leave before 3:00 pm. If your child needs to depart early, please inform the school office so appropriate arrangements can be made.

PARKING SAFETY

Safe Parking Around Our School

Parking around YSDS can be limited during busy drop-off and pick-up periods. Four designated Park and Go parking spaces have been introduced outside the school to help improve traffic flow and access.

For everyone's safety, we ask families not to double park or park on nature strips. These practices can create hazards for students, pedestrians and other road users.

HELPFUL REMINDERS

Making Drop-Off and Pick-Up Easier

We recognise that finding a suitable parking space can sometimes be challenging. The following suggestions may help:

  • Drive around the block and try again if parking is unavailable.
  • Park further down the street and walk to the school where practical.
  • Consider adjusting your arrival time by five minutes to avoid the busiest periods.
  • Always follow parking signs and keep pedestrian access clear.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION

Keeping Our School Community Safe

We appreciate your patience, understanding and cooperation. By working together, we can minimise classroom disruptions, support student learning and create a safer environment for everyone in our school community.

Every Child, Every Opportunity, Every Day

Working together to support safe arrivals, smooth departures and uninterrupted learning.
